Cross forks ahve come a long way since the straight blade steel days. Most good Cross bikes come with either a full carbon fork or a carbon blade/alloy steerer. one of the most common complaints we get is "my fork chatters". Well there is no easy way to say this but your fork may not be the problem. Fork chatter is a combination of steerer tube material/length, brakes, pads and straddle cable length. Full carbon forks tend to do it more than alloy ones so get used to it. We can help you minimize the problem if it really drives you crazy.
