They carefully selected a 36mm rim depth to yield a clear aerodynamic benefit over shallower rims, while avoiding drawbacks of added weight, rougher ride quality, and crosswind-fueled instability. Paired with a 24mm internal rim width, they created a rim shape optimized for aerodynamic advantage using gravel tires.
