Due to the customizable nature of our bikes and the importance of an in-store fitting, we do not offer delivery for our bikes. However, if you are unable to come to the store in person, we are happy to set up a phone consultation or send you a fit/sizing form to help you find the right bike with the right contact points. If you are interested in having the bike delivered, please let us know and we will try to find a solution. Additionally, we may have other models in stock that are not listed on our web store, and we can also special order different sizes and colors when available. If you don't see what you're looking for on the web store, please reach out to us and we'll do our best to help. Please note that the images on the web store are for color reference only.
Super excited to launch our latest collab, the Titanium Romax, with my friends at Brodie Bikes. This is a project that I have been bugging Bruce Spicer about for years and wanted to offer something unique for the shop’s 20th Anniversary. I couldn’t be happier how it turned out, and yes, it was worth the wait.
So why the Romax? Well the Romax was one of the first CX bikes I owned back in about 1998. It was steel and I loved it. At that time there were not many options for complete cx bikes, so it was the first model I added to the shop when we opened in 2000. I already had a relationship with Brodie and Bruce so it was a good fit. As the shop evolved into one with more custom-focus and frame build-ups Brodie lost some footing with us. I still kept in touch, Bruce being a friend, and he always said he’d have something to fit the shop - just give him time. Bruce knows me and the shop and has been there for the evolution of PRW since day one. So, to me, if I were to do a anniversary frame - why not with the Canadian brand owned by friends that helped launch PRW?
So, about a year and a bit ago while on a MTB ride with Bruce and my friend Johnny in West-Van, Bruce casually says that he could do a custom edition frame and do it in Titanium for us. I knew he was ready. Anyone who knows Bruce knows he won’t promise something he can’t deliver - it has to be perfect. After some back and forth on design and finish, we got the final proof and the order was placed. Then 2020 happened… The frames, like everything else in the world, were delayed. Better late then never I say. I’ve waited this long so what was another few months.
So about the Romax:
3/2.5 shaped and butted polished Titanium tubes updated geo with custom PRW Laser etched logos
Rear Thru-Axle: 12mm x 144mm x 1.5mm thread pitchTapered
Headset 1 1/8” - 1.5” Integrated - (SHIH IS-42/28.6 / IS-52/40)
External routing for mechanical, internal routing for Di2. A mechanics dream, external routing means no cursing. Great shift quality and easy maintenance.
BB is BSA - Threaded 1.37” x 24 TPI, 68mm. This to me is the best feature ! No creaking, and compatible with everything.
Recommended Max Tire size with fenders : 650x47 or 700x40. Yes with fenders, go bigger with out fenders.
So, what is the Romax? Gravel bike? Touring bike? Road Bike? CX race rig? - yes. This, and so much more. The geometry is so versatile that it checks a ton of boxes without sacrifice. And the Ti ride quality is timeless. Silky smooth, so long days in the saddle tick away, and the only thought in your head is that beer waiting at the finish.
We have a limited run of these special frames in stock complete with forks. I’ve already built mine up with Campagnolo running a 52/36 with an 11-32 cassette, and Easton Carbon wheels. It’s a perfect all road set up. The only question you need to answer is how will you build yours?
